“Nobodies, Together and Apart,” 2.5″ – 11.5″ high, 15 glass vases wrapped in linocut print on various handmade papers. Part of a series of print projects that use the repeating pattern of female figures.
The original working title of this installation was “A Bunch of Nobodies.” The intention was to draw on the themes of identity that I use in my work and in this case, female identity. By putting them together in a ‘bunch’, they were powerful in numbers. As I was finishing the last few vases while the coronavirus pandemic developed last week, the figures took on a new meaning as we were ordered to work together to stay apart.
